    Migration Law Update

It is difficult for most people to be eligible for a U.S. Green Card. However, for those that meet basic eligibility requirements (such as country of origin, education, work experience etc), the Green Card Lottery, also known as the Diversity Visa, may be an option.

Each year, 50,000 'winners' are randomly selected from a pool of applicants. The requirements change each year, but the good news is that Australian citizens are normally eligible for the lottery.

Applications for the 2012 Diversity Lottery open in October. If you are interested in entering the U.S. Green Card lottery, please do not hesitate to contact Angel Chambers by telephone on (03) 8600 8888 or by email at achambers@kligers.com.au

Migration is a big deal. There is a lot to consider. A lot to organise. A lot to worry about. It changes lives. And that doesn't just apply to the individuals migrating – but also their employers and families who might also be involved as well.

Migration law can be complex. Kliger Partners offers the benefit of a Migration Agent registered with the Office of the Migration Agents Registration Authority (OMARA) and a practicing lawyer. Our Migration Agent and lawyer is also a member of the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA) and Law Institute of Victoria (LIV).

If you, your business or someone you know is considering immigration or emigration to any country including Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom or the United States of America, Kliger Partners can assist with a full range of migration services.

Unlike companies that provide computer generated letters of advice after the completion of an online questionnaire (with no review of your documentation or consideration of your personal situation), advice at Kliger Partners is provided on a case by case basis.

Kliger Partners can help in all aspects and in all kinds of visa and citizenship applications. Some clients need Kliger Partners from the start – some just need advice at different points in the process or help with completion of the visa application forms. Many of our clients come to us having already begun the migration process. Others come to Kilger Partners when their visa or citizenship application has been rejected and they want to know how to appeal the decision– and what the best approach is.
