    New Business Migration Sponsorship Obligations - Don’t get caught out!
    On 14 September 2009, the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (‘DIAC’) introduced significant alterations to the subclass 457 business (long stay) visa scheme which operates for businesses sponsoring overseas employees.

    Declining economy affects migration
    One aim of the migration program is to meet the skills shortage in Australia. This year, the declining economy and increase in unemployment figures resulted in the government reviewing its migration program.

    New Skilled Occupation List (SOL) for General Skilled Migration Visas
    The Department of Immigration and Citizenship has announced a new Skilled Occupation List for General Skilled Migration visas. This new Skilled Occupation List will take effect on 1 July 2010.
